The Pioneer - our online student newspaper
Heritage's newspaper, the Pioneer, is produced by the Newspaper Production class. This course is designed to give students a publication staff experience in journalism and is strongly recommended for students interested in writing or for students anticipating writing or journalism as a career. It develops or enhances skills such as staff planning, interviewing, writing, editing, layout, self and group evaluation, teamwork, and leadership. Staff positions are open to students (freshmen through seniors) who have completed journalism or who have performed well in other writing courses and who are recommended by their Language Arts teacher. Applications are accepted beginning in April.
