5th to 6th Grade Goddard Transition/Registration Information for Students and their Parents
Welcome to Goddard Middle School!  Please  read the information below to help you and your student with the transition from elementary to middle school. We know this is an anxious transition, so we encourage you to take part in one of these opportunities to learn about Goddard Middle School.  These sessions are for parents & guardians only. We are excited to have your student join our school.  

Incoming 6th Grade Information Sessions & Parent Orientation

  • Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 7:00 @ Arapahoe High School    *This is a District Sponsored event & will talk on a more general level about the LPS Middle School Philosophy.
     
  • Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at 10:30 ( GMS Library
     
  • Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. (Cafeteria) *Parent Orientation (At this Orientation Session, you will learn about the classes & meet the 6th Grade Teachers)

 

Counselors Visit the Feeder Elementary Schools-  Present registration information and send students home with a registration card to be signed by parents.  Here are the dates:  

  • Moody:  March 12, 2019 @ 8:30

  • Centennial:  March 14, 2019 @ 8:30

  • East: March 14, 2019 @ 12:45

  • Wilder: March 18, 2019 @ 8:30

  • Runyon: March 18, 2019 @ 12:45

  • Field: March 19, 2019 @ 8:30

Incoming 6th Grade Student Visit Goddard Dates-  Tour of the Goddard building and to meet with the Counselors.

  • EAST & MOODY visits on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 @ 9:30-11:00

  • CENTENNIAL visit on Thursday, April 18, 2019 @ 9:30-11:00

  • WILDER visit on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 @ 9:30-11:00 

  • FIELD and RUNYON visit on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 @ 9:30-11:00

  • If your student does not attend one of the schools listed above, please pick one of the above dates for your student to attend.  No need to RSVP, just show up on the day & time that works best for you. Check in at the Main Office and we will connect you and your child with the group.

Music Instrument Screening- For students to try out instruments to find out which instrument they would like to play.

  • April TBA  6:00-7:30pm in the Cafeteria.

  • If your student cannot attend the Instrument Screening night, your student can still sign up for either Band or Strings.  The teacher will help decide what instrument works well for students during the first couple of days of school in August.

SCHEDULE’s- will be available to print at home approximately 3-5 days before school begins or students will be able to pick one up the first day of school.

PICTURE DAY- August, 23, 2018
Pictures will be taken at school, once school has started. Date 8-23-18. *pictures will be taken during students Social Studies Class.
Order On-line, via registration or Order Forms will be available at our Open House or  will be available in the Main Office.

OPEN HOUSE -  Monday, August 13, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m..  This will be an opportunity for Goddard Students to have a “Sneek-A-Peek” at the school, put school supplies in their locker, pay fees, sign up for PTO Volunteer opportunities and get out those last minute, First Day of School Jitters. Teacher’s will not be available.

VIKING PRIDE DAY - First Day of school.  6th Graders come for the first 2 hours of the day and new to Goddard 7th & 8th Graders come at 9:30. This is our new student orientation program that pairs 8th grade W.E.B Leaders with new students.  There are fun games and activities that take place throughout the school. This time is designed to orient and begin the process of meeting new students. This gives the 6th graders, and our new to GMS 7th & 8th Graders, a chance to have the school all to themselves for the first part of the day.

INFINITE CAMPUS- It is mandatory for every household to have a Parent Portal Account. Please visit https://campus.lps.k12.co.us/campus/portal/littleton.jsp or have your students elementary school help you set up an account. All families must have a Parent Portal Account by the time your student reaches middle school. The reasons for having an account are:

  • Registration will all be done On-line
  • Safety of your child
  • Check Student’s Grade & Attendance
  • Receive & communicate with your students school & teachers
  • See & Print Schedules
