3rd Grade

Third Grade is an exciting year!

Our focus in third grade is to encourage and develop life long learners who care about themselves, our school and our community. Third grade is an exciting year where kids are eager to learn! Students actively engage in their own learning as they work towards personal goals and achievements.

Our curriculum targets the development of literacy across all content areas with whole and small group instruction in reading and Writer's Workshop. In third grade we are no longer learning to read, but are reading to learn. The Bridges math curriculum instruction is differentiated to meet the needs of each child. Third graders really look forward to learning multiplication! Science units focus on Life Cycles, States of Matter and Rocks and Minerals. Social Studies units explore the concepts of Immigration, map skills comparing narrative and informational texts on an important event in history and basic economics.

Your child's success is our greatest reward!
