IB application for Fall 2017 entrance

The IB Application for students starting 9th grade in Fall 2017 is available here.

When applying, students should download, print, and complete the application in their own handwriting. Each application must include four recommendations from current teachers and a complete middle school transcript (separate from the open-enrollment grade reports).

Please note that the IB application and the open enrollment application are handled by different offices, but complete applications may be submitted simultaneously. Families needing to apply for open enrollment should visit the How to Enroll page of the website for forms and procedures.

IB admissions decisions are made, and letters mailed, in mid- to late-January.

History of IB at Littleton

In 1997, Littleton High School applied to become an International Baccalaureate Diploma Program school. After approval, the first class of 14 students graduated in 1999 and had a 100 percent passing rate; all students earned their IB diploma.

Since then, the program has flourished. In May 2016, 54 seniors sat for their IB diplomas, with a 94 percent pass rate. Every year, our graduates gain entrance to competitive colleges and universities in the nation and world. Recent graduates attend these universities: Yale, Williams, Stanford, Cornell, New York University, Notre Dame, Magill, Pomona, Northwestern, Villanova, Smith, Cal Poly, Marquette, Creighton, Santa Clara, Gonzaga, Rensselaer Polytechnic, Southern Methodist University, Baylor, University of British Columbia, University of Denver, Colorado College, University of Colorado and Colorado State, among many others.

Littleton's IB diploma rate is 91 percent; the worldwide diploma rate is about 80 percent. More than a third of Littleton High School's teachers have attended intensive IB training that covers curriculum and assessments. All LHS IB teachers also teach non-IB courses here.
