At Lenski, students are given the training and tools to fully integrate technology with the grade level curriculum. What students work on in the computer lab relates to what they are studying in the classroom. All students in grades 1-5 come to the lab with their teacher for at least one hour a week. Kindergarten students spend 30 minutes a week in the lab.

Our technology staff works in tandem with the classroom teachers to provide personalized instruction during these learning sessions. In addition, students often continue their computer projects on classroom computers, in the mini-lab, or media center.

Lenski Websites
At Lenski, we use the Internet to support the curriculum in the computer lab. What websites do we use? How can I get to them at home? The answer is easy. Click on the link below and access the same websites used by Lenski students, which also includes resources for teachers and parents.

January 2018

Lenski students will benefit from the LPS foundation grant Hands-On STEM in action.  Teachers in grades 3, 4, and 5 are excited to implement this exciting curriculum. Each grade level will study a different STEM related activity with Grade 3 working on earthquakes, Grade 4 conducting a digital relay, and Grade 5 conducting soil analysis.

As part of our efforts to focus on integrating STEAM concepts into our learning, we are planning on having Engineering for Kids come to Lenski for to help teach these concepts.  Through the PTO Technology Advisory Committee students in grades 1-5 will have the opportunity to experience a one-hour session to learn computer coding.

Grades: 4 – 5: Students will use the EV3 Robotics Rover & LEGO Programmer Software to engineer
basic mechanisms and programming sequences to accomplish robotic tasks.
Grades 1 – 3: Students will use WEDO 1.0 and LEGO Programmer Software to build simple robotic
functions and control them with Software (i.e. Operating Windmill, Operating Elevator).
