Conferences

Parent/Teacher Conferences are held twice a year at Heritage High School. In the fall, conferences are held on two consecutive nights in mid October - Tuesday, October 17, and Wednesay, October 18, 2017. In the spring, conferences are held on one night - Thursday, March 8, 2018. Conferences run from 4 to 7:30 p.m.

Most teachers are arranged alphabetically in the Main Gym with their names posted on their tables; a list of teacher locations is available in the Main Office. Learning Support teachers will be located in their offices on the first floor. In addition, counselors will be available in their offices, and administrators circulate in order to assist parents. Most in-season coaches will not be available until after practice at about 5:30 p.m.

Parents are encouraged to check students' grades through the Infinite Campus Portal and print out grade summaries for any classes they are particularly concerned about. Copies will be available in the Main Office for those who forget or cannot print them.

To assist parents in gaining the most from conferences, please consider these three pointers:

  • Conferences with each teacher are allocated for five minutes. This will allow teachers to visit with as many parents as possible. If more time is necessary, please feel free to call individual teachers for an appointment on another day.
  • Determine which teachers need to be seen first. Although you should have sufficient time to see all of them, prioritizing your visit will ensure that you hold the most important conferences. If two parents are coming, split the conference assignments so that you can cover more ground. This may be especially important if you have more than one student attending our school.
  • Ask three questions: (1) How is my student doing in the course? (2) What can my student do to improve class performance? (3) When can my student get help?

The HHS faculty is eager to work with all parents and support each student's success. We hope you will join us for an opportunity to spend five minutes with each of your student's teachers.
