Senior Citizen Tax Rebate Program

Littleton Public Schools’ Senior Citizen Tax Rebate Program consists of men and women over the age of 60 who earn a rebate toward their Arapahoe County property taxes by volunteering in our district. Participants inspire and complement the student learning experience. They are active seniors who come from a wide variety of backgrounds with limitless skills and life experiences to share. Our seniors strengthen the link between generations. At capacity the program can accomodate 200 seniors and as of 8/2022 we are at 186 spots filled.

To be eligible for the Tax Rebate Program, one must be:

  • 60 years of age or older
  • The homeowner is the one interested in volunteering and resides within the Littleton Public Schools attendance area
  • Occupy the property for which the taxes are paid
  • Present a copy of the most current tax notice upon application to the program

Please contact Melissa Lotz, Volunteer Coordinator for more information.

Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS)

On any given school day, hundreds of parents, grandparents, senior citizens, and community members volunteer in Littleton Public Schools. As tabulated in July 2018, there were over 190,000 hours donated by members of our community, which in turn calculates to over $2,000,000 of voluntary contributions.

We are forever grateful to those that step-up to volunteer. One of the things that make the LPS school district great is its commitment to community involvement and in turn, Littleton is great because of its involved community.

Want to get involved? We want to hear from you. Please contact our district volunteer coordinator Melissa Lotz to set-up some time to talk about how you can help.
