There are a few simple steps we can take to prevent the spread of illness. Please be sure your child knows to:
Develop a plan for when your child needs to be kept home from school. If a child is too sick to be in school we will send the student home. Students who are ill will remain in the health office until picked up by an approved adult. Students should remain at home until they are healthy and sypmtom free without medication. Public health authorities advise not to send a child to school with a fever and symptoms of illness, Please keep your student at home for at least 24 hours after the fever is gone without fever reducing medications. If you have any concerns about your child’s health, we urge you to contact your primary care provider.
Please call in your student’s absence to the 24 hour attendance line at 303-734-5780 or e-mail sandburgattendance[at]gmail[dot]com. Include the date, child's name, teacher, and a reason for the absence.
