Littleton Public Schools invites parents to attend its annual 5th Grade Parent Night. The event will be held at Heritage High School Theater (1401 W. Geddes Ave., Littleton CO 80120) on January 16, 2018, at 7 p.m. All parents of current 5th graders who are interested in learning more about the unique opportunities available in LPS middle schools are encouraged to attend.
Littleton Public Schools has four middle schools: Euclid, Goddard, Newton and Powell. While each has its own personality, all four offer the guaranteed, rigorous LPS middle school curriculum. Balanced between STEM and Liberal Arts, students are exposed to a wide variety of academic disciplines. A top-rated education is important, but a sense of community and belonging is paramount. Students and families in LPS support one another in and out of the classroom, creating a place that everyone can call home.
The evening will focus on a conversation about what to expect from the LPS middle school experience. Principals Cindy Corlett (Euclid Middle School), Bryan Breuer (Goddard Middle School), James O’Tremba (Newton Middle School), Steve Wolf (Powell Middle School) and Ashley Broer (Options Middle School and Phoenix 6-8) will all be present, along with Director of Secondary Education Clay Abla.
Topics include LPS common middle school curriculum, transition activities and the importance of communications. Parents will learn about the strong academic programs offered, including STEM, and the variety of electives, athletics and performing arts available. The evening will also address questions specific to out-of-district families and parents of students who need special services.
“Accredited with Distinction” for 7 years in a row by the Colorado Department of Education, Littleton Public Schools is among the Denver Metro Area’s highest rated districts. So whether you live in the district or are coming to LPS from another district, you can be certain that you are getting the very best.
This is a parent-only event. Students will have an opportunity to visit middle schools in the spring. For more information, call 303.347.3334 the Middle & High School Choices page on the district website. We look forward to seeing you there!
