Brandon Brookfield

Brandon has taught and coached in Colorado for 24 years. He has a wonderful wife (Jenny) and two fun loving daughters (Berit and Kylie). Brandon enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf and preforming illusions and magic. Brandon received a BA in Communications, a BA in Spanish and an MA in Teaching all from the University of Louisville while also playing football. He graduated from Littleton High School in 1990. 

Jennifer Leyden

Classroom Instructor, Behind the Wheel Instructor

Jennifer was a Physical Education teacher for 34 years. She earned a K-12 Physical Education degree from Oklahoma Baptist University, holds a Masters Degree in Sports Administration and Marketing from University of Northern Colorado, and has a Minor in Special Education and Social Studies. The majority of her teaching was at Arapahoe High School. While teaching, she coached Varsity Volleyball, Girls and Boys Track, and Girls and Boys Tennis all at Arapahoe High School. Jennifer has been teaching Driver's Education for about 4 years for LPS. She retired from teaching in May 2020. She has been married for 23 years to her wonderful and fun loving husband, Douglas Leyden and has 2 adult children that graduated from Heritage High School, and has 5 Grandchildren that live in Westminster and Denver. Jennifer holds the following certifications: American Red Cross (ARC) Water Safety Instructor; Lifeguard Instructor; Lifeguard; First Aid/AED/CPR Instructor; PADI Scuba Instructor; SSI Scuba Instructor; HSA Scuba Instructor. She enjoys all outdoor activities as long as it's warm and sunny. 

 

Steve Puter

Steve Puter is 68 years old and has been married for 45 years and has 3 wonderful children. He has lived in Littleton for 63 of his 68 years and attended Walt Whitman Elementary, Isaac Newton Junior High and Arapahoe High School. Steve graduated from Arapahoe High School in 1968. He received a B. A. from the University of Northern Colorado in Physical Education K-12 and also completed the Masters Program from Grand Canyon University in Teaching. Steve taught Physical Education in the Littleton Public Schools system for 35 years, teaching at Heritage H.S., Isaac Newton J.H. and Laura Ingalls Wilder elementary.

Steve has been in the Littleton Public Schools Driver's Education Program for the last 40 years. He has always enjoyed being able to teach students how to drive. He stresses driving by following the rules, laws and safe practices that apply to all persons who drive in a vehicle in the State of Colorado. He encourages his students to become a defensive driver, which will protect them and others from dangerous and unexpected driving situations as well as everyday driving.  

Dave Vanoni

Classroom Instructor, Behind the Wheel Instructor, & Certified Driver Tester

Dave Vanoni has been teaching for twenty one years and is currently a full time teacher at Options High School. Prior to that, Dave served as a Special Education Teacher at Littleton High School and Athletic Director and Physical Eduction Department Chair at Northside College Prep HS in Chicago. Dave has earned a B.S. in Physical Education with graduate credit hour certification in Driver Education. He also has an M.A. in Special Education and an M.A. in Educational Leadership holding his principal license. He is in his 14th year in Littleton Public Schools and has coached a number of years in baseball, football, and basketball.

Dave has experience teaching driver education classroom, simulation, range, and on the street instruction for over 20 years. He believes that safety education/driver education is a necessary invaluable skill in a distracted world and he facilitates this with putting students at ease through humor and quality instruction.


Heather Cotham

Heather Cotham attended Littleton Public Schools at Mark Twain Elementary, Powell Middle School, and Arapahoe High School. 

Heather has been married to her husband for 20 years now. They have a son who currently attends Arapahoe High School.  

Heather has been a full time teacher in LPS for 19 years. She has primarily been at Options Secondary Program as a PE teacher since 2003. Heather was a cheerleading coach at Littleton High School from 2003-2005. She has also coached cheerleading at Regis High School from 2005-2007. Heather finished off her career as a cheerleading coach at Arapahoe High School from 2011-2013. Heather has been coaching middle school volleyball for the past 5 years.  

Heather attended University of Northern Colorado to obtain her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. She then attended Metropolitan State University to obtain her teaching degree. Heather obtained her M.A. from The University of Texas at Arlington in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Science.  

Heather began teaching "Behind the Wheel" instruction for Driver's Education in Littleton Public Schools March of 2019.  She enjoys working with students and helping them to develop into safe, alert, cautious, and defensive drivers.

Started teaching in Littleton Public Schools in 1974 until 2006. Majority of the years taught at Arapahoe High School where I also graduated in 1970. Taught physical education & health , coached football, track and field (boys & girls) and for the last 8 years boys golf at AHS. Started teaching drivers education in 1978.

Tim Taylor

Classroom Teacher, State Certified Behind the Wheel Instructor, State Certified Road Test/License Tester

Mr. Taylor has been a certified teacher for the state of Colorado 30+ years as a teacher and coach in Littleton and Douglas County School Districts. He graduated from University of Denver and received his Masters from University of Northern Colorado.  He has also been a top ten finalist for the State of Colorado Teacher of the Year.

Tom Ward

Classroom Instructor, Behind the Wheel Instructor

Mr. Ward is a Littleton High School graduate. He has been teaching driver education for 15 years. He was previously an assistant principal at Golden High School and is currently a head football coach.
