Safety Precautions for Food Service
Other changes Nutrition Services has made due to COVID-19 include limiting daily menu options to increase line speed and to limit waste. To help prevent cross-contamination and the spread of germs, the department also will request that students purchase items they have touched in the serving line. Please encourage your student to not sort through the milk options or touch items on the serving line that they do not intend to purchase.

Prior Year Free and Reduced Price Meal Benefits Extended 30 Days into the 2020-2021 School Year!
If your student qualified for free or reduced meal benefits last school year, those benefits will be extended into the first 30 days of the 2020-2021 school year. A new application must be completed each school year. Any application that is not completed and processed within the first 30 days of the school year, will be changed to paying status. While at this time all students are eating for free, once USDA funding end in May 2021, students will be charged at their eligibility status. Families are held responsible for any charges that accrue anytime between benefit status lapses. Get your applications completed soon! Applying online is the fastest way to get your application processed, or pick up an application from your school's front office or kitchen staff.
In an effort to support Colorado’s families during the COVID-19 epidemic, the Colorado Department of Human Services and Department of Education have teamed up to secure USDA approval to issue Pandemic-EBT (P-EBT) benefits to school-age children who would have received free or reduced-price meals during the time that schools have been closed.
