Approval Process:
Narrative and Informational Supplementary Instructional Resources that are texts or books that will be assigned by a teacher to one or more students must be approved by the Littleton Public Schools Board of Education.
The Narrative and Informational Supplementary Instructional Resource List identifies narrative and informational books or texts that support the specific state standards, grade level expectations, and student learning objectives. These instructional resources are used to offer support to Principle Instructional Resources or, in the absence of Principle Instructional Resources, provide a primary framework for meeting or exceeding the standards and/or course description for a particular course or subject.
These include any books/texts that a teacher may assign to one or more students for classroom use including, but not limited to, individual students, literature circles, book groups, and whole class reading.
Therefore, they require Board of Education approval.
