Last year we endured a snow and ice storm with frigid temperatures. This year we have coronavirus, face masks, and social distancing. We say, NO WORRIES because you can Stride YOUR way.
The Stride will be a no-contact 5K/10K event where families can stay connected and move together in whatever way and whenever they choose within a three day window between October 23rd and the 25th. Run, walk, hike, bike, swim, dance, rollerblade...you get the picture… just get your groove on and move!
Embrace your inner STRIDESTER and choose your distance, either 5k or 10k. If you want to see how you fare against the other Stridesters, then go ahead and upload your time (it’s not required) - don’t forget a photo or two - to earn street cred and bragging rights. It’s all on the honor system!

A Virtual What?
What is a virtual event? A virtual race allows you to participate at your leisure - you pick the time and date that you run, walk, or do the activity of your choice.
How do I participate? When you register to participate in The Stride, you have the flexibility to pick your activity (5k, 10k, squats, bike ride, row, tik tok dance) and complete that activity anytime Friday, October 23rd to Sunday, October 25th, 2020. Register, get moving, bask in the glow of your community support and healthy lifestyle.
Why would I pay to run a virtual Stride? Registering for The Stride gives you the opportunity to set your own fitness goal, as well as receive virtual support as you work toward meeting your goal. You can also feel great knowing you are giving back to your community. Funds raised from the Stride support LPS students and staff in a variety of areas, including mental health, food assistance, crisis support, chrome books, funding for teachers, and so much more!
What is included in registration? The traditional Stride t-shirt, an awesome bib you can customize, the chance to win cash-money for your school, and the opportunity to support LPS students and staff.
What do I do after I register? Start planning for your activity. Scope out our scenic streets to run or walk, the best biking or hiking trails to conquer, or gather your squad for a tik tok dance-a-thon. You have the flexibility to choose any activity you want to do! Complete your activity anytime Friday, October 23rd to Sunday, October 25th, 2020. Submit your photos to LPSFInfo[at]LPS.k12.co[dot]us or tag us on social media and then give yourself a pat on the back for being a community hero. Don't forget to use #StridingforLPS.
Can I bring my dog this year? You betcha! Be sure to enter your pet for the best running buddy, the four-legged division!
Can I sleep in for the stride? Counting Zs counts toward being a “Stridester”. Be sure to register so you get your commemorative shirt.
If I want to upload my time, how do I do that? Easy peasy lemon squeezy! Visit the results page here: https://results.raceroster.com/results/athvhzv9xcp3tjgb
What if I can’t make it to the Drive-Through Packet Pick-up on October 17th? No problem! Stop by our other Packet Pick-Up option on Friday, October 23rd, between 1:00pm - 5:00pm at the LPS District Offices (ESC) located at 5776 S. Crocker Street, Littleton, 80120.
Will you do medals for winners? Unfortunately, we will not be awarding medals this year.
