Call-To-Action - Dollars for School Supplies!

The Coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic certainly hit schools hard and we are laser focused to help in any way possible to relieve the stress on distirct administrators, principals, teachers, parents, families and students.  One thing we can do is raise needed funding to help fill in the gaps found in stretched school budgets.

In working to help mitigate the spread of the virus, students cannot share school supplies - scissors, crayons, pens, glue sticks, etc - and must have their own.  In addition, lockers will not be able to be used in the middle or high school schools, therefore students will need to carry backpacks to and from school.

We are asking our community to join forces with us to ensure kids have what they need to be successful in classes.  We are accepting monitary donations so schools and families can purchase specific school supplies that are needed.  In an effort to keep everyone as safe as possible and not transmit the virus, we will not be able to accept physical school supplies, backpacks, or used computers or technoligy devices.

Thank you very much for making a difference for LPS kids!  We appreciate your kindness and generous hearts!

The LPS Foundation helped the school district clean, disinfect, and distribute Chromebooks to LPS families in the early days of the Coronavirus outbreak when Govenor Polis shut down the city with his Stay At Home order forcing schools to pivot to a distance learning model.

With LPS launching school through distance learning, many LPS families requested help with internet access so their kids could connect online to participate in school. In these challenging times, families are struggling to cover the cost of something that seems so standard in homes today.

LPSF provided funding to help these LPS families connect virtually by making WIFI hotspots available. We know as closures remain in place, the need will become even greater and LPSF is committed to helping.

The LPS Foundation provided $50,000 in funding to provide healthy breakfast and lunch meals to kids in our community between March 16th - July 24th.  Over 125,000 meals were providved!  The LPS Nutrition Team made it fun for kids by dressing up in cosutmes and providing that awesome connection to school that kids were craving.  LPS Bus Drivers were happy to drive bus routes and help deliver the meals to eager, appreciative, and happy kids.  The LPS Foundation also providved $10,000 in funding to purchase all levels and all kinds of books to give out to kids along with the meals.  Thank you to our generous supporters for joining in this effort with us!

In early 2019, the LPS Foundation funded a pilot program at East Elementary School to help students understand and regulate their emotional well-being, using heart rate monitors to signal when they were feeling calm, anxious, or stressed.  The program resulted in fewer behavioral interventions, stronger relationships between families and teachers, and happier, healthier students.

With communitty support, the LPS Foundation raised and donated $69,000 to Littleton Public Schools in 2020, allowing the program to expand to serve every elementary school in the district.

"Our students' mental health has always been a top priority, but without support from the Foundation our students would bever have experienced a solution like this.  We are so grateful for the Foundation's work and we're thrilled that all elementary students in the district will have access to this and other leading-edge mental health programs because of the LPS Foundation's fundraising..."  - Kelly Card, Principal at East Elementary
