Caitlin Hogan - OHS

Caitlin is the definition of positivity and determination. From going that extra mile tutoring her younger siblings to anxiously waiting until she met the age requirement to work at a preschool, Caitlin has kept her focus. In addition to her regular coursework, Caitlin was also taking Concurrent Enrollment Classes at Arapahoe Community College and volunteering two times a week at Hopkins Elementary her junior year. This year as a student in the district Teacher Cadet Program, Caitlin works four days a week at Dutch Creek Elementary where her younger sister attends. She loves the lessons in patience, diversity and organization she is learning in her position as an assistant teacher at The Goddard School in Littleton.

At Options, Caitlin has been an active student leader with SPEAC (Suicide Prevention, Education and Counseling) and has enjoyed working with the other high schools to share the successes they have had at Options. She has also worked with the staff at Options to develop a student lead position trained to work with students including safe talk for those students who initially feel more comfortable talking to peers rather than a counselor.

In her spare time, she works at The Melting Pot and paints.

Next year Caitlin will take her boundless energy to the University of Northern Colorado where she will study early elementary education.

“Caitlin is a very bright, creative, caring and kind-hearted future teacher.”

“She loves teaching and has discovered the intrinsic rewards of the field.  She cares deeply about seeing her “students” succeed.”
