IN-PERSON LEARNING MODEL

IN-PERSON | 5 DAYS PER WEEK
EXTENSIVE HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOLS

LPS students attend school in-person, five days per week, with overlapping and extensive health and safety protocols in place.

REASON
Per Arapahoe County’s COVID-19 data as reported by Tri-County Health and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, it is deemed appropriate for students to attend school in a traditional in-person learning model, with the addition of public health and safety measures in place to limit spread of the virus. Measures include mask wearing, health screenings, frequent hand washing, frequent cleaning and sanitizing of buildings and playgrounds, and maintaining physical distancing to the greatest extent possible.

TIMING
The district, and individual schools, may cycle in and out of in-person learning as community transmission rates ebb and flow throughout the school year.

HYBRID/BLENDED LEARNING MODEL

IN-PERSON & REMOTE COMBO
EXTENSIVE HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOLS

LPS students attend school with a combination of in-person learning days and remote learning days, allowing for only half of a school’s student body to be in the school at any given time. In- person learning days include overlapping and extensive health and safety protocols.

REASON
Per Arapahoe County’s COVID-19 data as reported by Tri-County Health and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, it is deemed appropriate for students to attend school at a limited capacity to limit the risk of virus spread. By dividing the student population and alternating days of in-person learning and remote learning, only half the school’s student body will be at school at any given time.

TIMING
The district, and individual schools, may cycle in and out of a hybrid/blended model as community transmission rates ebb and flow throughout the school year.

REMOTE LEARNING MODEL

ONLINE LEARNING | 5 DAYS PER WEEK
DEPENDENT ON COVID-19 DATA

LPS students attend school online, five days per week. (This is separate from TOPS)

REASON
Per Arapahoe County’s COVID-19 data as reported by Tri-County Health and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, it is deemed appropriate for all students to remain home and attend school in a robust online program to prevent further community spread of the virus.

TIMING
The district, and individual schools, may cycle in and out of a remote learning model as community transmission rates ebb and flow throughout the school year. Remote learning phases could last anywhere from a few days (in order to minimize virus spread should positive COVID cases be identified in a school community) to a number of months to reduce transmission in the event of a community resurgence.

FULL-TIME ONLINE LEARNING | 5 DAYS PER WEEK
NOT DEPENDENT ON COVID-19 DATA

TOPS is a fully online program for K-12 and Transition Services students for the 2020-2021 school year. This is a separate program and is not affiliated with a specific school.

REASON
TOPS is primarily intended for students who are either health-compromised and COVID-vulnerable or who have family members who are. It is also available to families who are not comfortable with their students attending in-person school at this time.

TOPS is not impacted by COVID-19 data.

TIMING
Students enrolled in TOPS will remain part of TOPS even if the rest of the district moves to remote learning.

Students wishing to return to their school of in-person enrollment will follow the outlined timeline; elementary school – anytime, middle school – at a quarter, and high school – at the semester.
