Transitional Colorado Assessment Program (TCAP) performance highlights from the 2012–2013 school year:
Littleton Public Schools students continue to perform at high levels, scoring 13 to 21 percentage points higher at the proficient and advanced levels than the state average in all grades and all subjects tested. LPS typically scores 16 percentage points above the state average.
District reading results at all grades scored at or above 80 percent proficient and advanced in reading for the second year in a row, some by as much as 15 percentage points above the state average. District writing scores improved in six of the eight grade levels tested. Math scores are the highest ever in some grade levels. Science scores continue to be high and are as much as 18 percentage points higher than the state. A focus on Tier One instruction results in impressive gains in the subgroup, Students with Disabilities. This group experienced gains in 24 of the 27 areas tested.
LPS is “Accredited with Distinction” - the Colorado Department of Education's highest academic accreditation rating. Only 10 percent of Colorado’s school districts earn this distinction. LPS is the only Denver Metro Area district to receive this rating for seven years in a row.
