Hello Sandburg Parents,

Sandburg uses an Accountability Committee to make school-centered decisions.  The committee’s central focus is to increase student achievement.  This group is formally known as CSSAC, Carl Sandburg School Accountability Committee.  As the CSSAC we are charged with one purpose.  That purpose stated in our by-laws, is to “advise the Principal relative to accomplishments of the school and district vision, mission, goals and priorities to improve educational achievement.”

Our responsibilities relative to the purpose are as follows:

*   Assist the Principal and faculty in the accomplishment of the school and district goals and priorities through the development of the School Improvement Plan.

*  Provide input to the principal in the allocation of resources to accomplish the school’s goals through weighted staffing and the annual budget.

*  Review, monitor and revise the School Improvement Plan.

*  Assist the Principal and faculty in communication the school’s plans and accomplishments to the community.

CSSAC meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the library.  Ballot elections will be held the first week in May.

Please consider becoming a member on the Carl Sandburg School Accountability Committee (CSSAC).

Parent, Community or Business Member positions are available for the 2017-2018 school year.

*   We meet 9 times a year, once a month on the first Tuesday of the month during the school year at 5:30 p.m. in the school library.

*  Every month we have a special guest speaker from LPS or Sandburg that speaks to us directly about their responsibilities and how they affect Sandburg and LPS.

*  Our meetings are fun and very informative.

*  You are not required to attend every meeting.  We realize unexpected things come up, after all, we are parents too!

*  Your responsibilities...  Just being a good listener and active participant during our meetings, that’s it.

We are looking for a few individuals who want to learn a bit more and spread the word to our fellow Sandburg friends and neighbors, but most of all we are looking for your input.  Below is the formal description of CSSAC.  The application is now a Google Form - Just click here to fill out and submit the Google Form.   Questions - contact Jen Muller at jmuller[at]lps.k12.co[dot]us or 303-347-4675. We’re looking forward to your input!
