Welcome to Newton's PTO

Let's Support Alex!

As a PTO we support our students and families.  Our student Alex Hood has recently been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Luekemia (AML)  and will have ongoing chemo therapy over the next several months.  She spent the last 36 days in the hospital and after a few days home will be back in the hospital for another 30 days.
Here are some ways we can support the family:
A Go fund me page has been set up for her and her father to help with the cost of the treatment -   https://www.gofundme.com/alex-hood-cancer-patient
Alex can do very little but rest and watch movies - ITunes gift cards would be greatly appreciated.
Her father has been driving to the hospital in Aurora from Centennial multiple times a day.  King Soopers Gift Cards that he can use for Gas can help as well.
Drop off gift cards to the front office with a note - For Alex Hood on them or help with the Gofundme page.
She is currently unable to have visitors.  But appreciates all positive thoughts and prayers for her and her family.

On behalf of the Newton Middle School Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO), we would like to give a warm Newton Knight welcome to the Newton community.  We invite Newton parents be actively involved in the school through the Newton PTO. The PTO meets monthly (minutes of the meetings are posted on this site) and you are invited to attend. Numerous volunteer opportunities will be posted throughout the year. The objectives of the Newton Middle School PTO are:

  • To inform and involve parents, thus promoting a better understanding of the educational programs of Newton Middle School and Littleton Public Schools
  • To promote the welfare of the students in the home, school and community
  • To act as a service group in support of Newton Middle School
  • To represent parent interest by acting in an advisory capacity
  • To build a sense of community by providing the following programs:
  • Staff Appreciation, Fall Party, Run with the Nights, Community Nights and more

One important function of the Newton PTO is to raise money to support enhancement projects for our school, and enrichment programs for our students and teachers. Without this additional funding, these initiative would not be possible. Our goal this year is 100% participation.  EVERY GIFT COUNTS. All funds committed through this campaign will support:

  • Interior building enhancements, including upgrading the gymnasium floor and sound system in the cafeteria.
  • “Reading Counts”, the Fall Dance and teacher appreciation.
  • Enrichment of the classroom experience, with the purchase of supplies and technology to increase academic goals.
  • Strategic Teacher Grants that expand on the curriculum and special projects.

We are actively seeking volunteers for the following positions for the 2017-2018 school year:

  • Vice President
  • Community Relations
