Dear Parent/Guardian,
In an effort to help you plan with your incoming students, we have compiled a list of dates for you to put into your calendar. Information regarding our fee payment and schedule pickup process for 2018-19 will be posted on our website May 1st.

MARCH
3-15 Registration info presented to students at Peabody @ 1:15pm
3-19 Registration info presented to students at Franklin @ 9:15am
3-20 Registration info presented to students at Lenski @ 9:15am
3-20 Registration info presented to students at Sandburg @ 1:15pm
3-22 Elementary Music visit to Newton, 10:00-11:00am

APRIL
4-5 PARENT Orientation night for PARENTS of incoming Newton 6 th graders. 6:30pm in the gym
4-10 Instrument Screening Night for students interested in taking Band for the FIRST time at Newton.

  • 5:30-7:00pm in the Band Room

4-16 Accelerated Placement Assessment for Math (by appt.)*
4-17 Accelerated Placement Assessment for Math (by appt.)*

  • We are no longer offering LA Accelerated Placement Classes for 6th graders.

4-19 5 th graders from Lenski will visit Newton during the day, 9:30-11:00am
4-24 5 th graders from Franklin & Sandburg will visit Newton during the day, 9:30-11:00am
4-26 5th graders from Peabody will visit Newton during the day, 9:30-11:00am

7-9 FEE PAYMENT OPENS (ONLINE with credit card)

AUGUST
5-26 to 9-1 UPDATE/CONFIRM Family Portal Account – MUST BE DONE EVERY YEAR EVEN IF THERE ARE NO CHANGES!

8-14 Schedules available ONLINE (after fee payment is made).
8-15 Locker Set Up (8am -11:30am)
8-17 1st Day of School – Reporting times to be announced
8-30 Back to School Night @ 6:30pm
