Administration

Principal: Joe Hayes

It is with great excitement and eagerness that I begin my career in LPS at Field Elementary. I am honored to have been chosen as the new principal of such a dynamic, engaged school and community. Over the past 13 years, I worked in the Sheridan School District. After teaching 7th and 8th grade Language Arts for seven years, I spent a year as an instructional coach at the secondary level. The past five years were very rewarding as I became an elementary assistant principal for one year and then spent four years guiding Alice Terry Elementary.

My experiences have helped shape my vision and leadership style. I work hard to establish meaningful relationships with staff, students and families. Collaboration and clear communication are vital to me and I strive to partner with families to ensure student success and growth. Finally, I want our school to be a place where kids love to be, teachers love to work and families love to visit.

As a father of two elementary-aged children, I understand the demands of school for both students and families. I will ensure we do everything we can to support the academic, behavioral, emotional and social growth of each and every student. Field has an amazing teaching staff and I look forward to leading them in this challenging and rewarding work.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me in person, via email or on the phone. Again, thank you for the honor of working with your children and allowing me to help them become the best they can be today, tomorrow and in the future!

Thank you,
Joe Hayes

I am thrilled to join the Field Elementary team, serving as the Assistant Principal! Prior to coming to Field, I spent four years as an Assistant Principal at Sheridan High School. I have also had educational experience in the classroom as a teacher, an instructional coach, a professional development facilitator, and a cross country coach. I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Colorado and I have a Master’s Degree in Special Education from the University of Colorado at Denver. I have a strong belief in lifelong learning, therefore am currently working on my Doctorate in Executive Leadership and Educational Equity from the University of Colorado at Denver. My dissertation will focus on women in educational leadership. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Charlie (a proud Arapahoe High School graduate!), and our beautiful 16-month- old daughter, Charlotte. I like to hike, run, watch musical theatre, and travel. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve at Field and look forward to learning more about the community and working with you all. Cheers to a wonderful year ahead!
