  • Join TEAM LPS at Colfax Marathon Series

Exciting news for all you runners/walkers...or any of you who aspire to get more movement and activity in your daily routine...or need a goal to work toward...or just want to do something different...Join TEAM LPS! I am happy to announce that the LPS Foundation will be participating in the Colfax Marathon Series as a charity partner!  What does that mean, you ask?  It means that you and your colleagues, friends and family can participate as a runner or walker in one of the event's races and support LPS schools and students while doing so!  How fun is that, right?  Join TEAM LPS! Choose from a 5K, Urban 10-miler, half-marathon and a full-marathon (click here).  Get a team of 5 runners for the marathon relay (longest leg is 6.5 miles) - there are special cash prizes for teams comprised of educators only.  Any all LPS staff team that wins their division will get to choose the school they want their cash money prize to go to! Support us by fundraising for TEAM LPS.  For anyone who chooses to fundraise (it's optional), they can earn a free Stride 2017 entry for every $200 they bring in for the team.   The LPS Foundation will be hosting a tent at the event on Sunday, May 21st for TEAM LPS to gather, banter, celebrate and laugh.   Denver, Jeffco, Aurora, and Golden public schools all have teams... wouldn't it be awesome for LPS to represent in a big way?!? I know we have a ton of running talent out there! Rumor has it that Mike Porter has put a relay team together called Team Tortoise... Heritage is forming a couple teams, and Nutrition Services is looking to win it all with their team!  Let's see how many schools and departments we can get to participate.  Pricing increases next Wednesday, April 19th, so use the long weekend to get organized and fired up!  ... and rest up too!  For more information, please contact Beth Best at 303.347.3478 or BBEST@LPS.K12.CO.US To register, make sure you select LPS Foundation as your charity of choice at this link:  Register for TEAM LPS here GO LPS!
