LPS employees are honored for excellence
 From left to right:  Ann Smith (AHS) named “2009 Top 20 Educators to Watch” by the National School Board Association; Karl Fisch (AHS) awarded the “2009 Edublogger Lifetime Achievement Award”; Mimi Leonard (Career and Technical Education) named the “Outstanding Administrator for 2010” by the Colorado Association of Teachers of Family and Consumer Sciences; Kurt Stedron (LHS) awarded the “2010 Jared Polis Foundation Teacher Recognition Award”; Mike Griebel (HHS) named the “2010 All Classification State Football Coach of the Year by the Denver Post; and Carol Blechschmidt (AHS) honored by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for her influence on current MIT student and AHS graduate Sean Burke.  

Not pictured:  Dr. Barb DeSpain (Lenski Elementary) named runner up from Colorado in the National Distinguished Principal Program; Mark Finer (NMS) received the 2009 Technology Education Teacher Excellence Award from the Colorado and International Technology Engineering Educators Association; Chris Moore (East Elementary) named “2009 Top 20 Educators to Watch” by the National School Board Association; and Tony Winger (HHS) received the “Never Forgotten Fund Award”.
