LPS Board Signs Proclamation for Classified Employees' Week

At the regularly scheduled Board Meeting on October 12, 2017, the LPS Board of Education formally recognized the dedication and hard work of the district’s classified employees. Classified Employees’ Week, October 8, 2017 – October 14, 2017, was created to honor classified staff in school communities throughout the state. LPS Board President Jack Reutzel signed a proclamation honoring LPS’ classified employees. It stated:

WHEREAS, Colorado’s classified school employees are an essential part of our state’s educational system; and

WHEREAS, classified school employees assist in providing safe and orderly facilities where Colorado’s students can learn and grow; and

WHEREAS, classified school employees perform the daily cleaning and maintenance of school property, safely transport students to and from school, prepare and serve nourishing lunches, maintain records and reports, assist in classrooms and on school playgrounds, and perform a variety of other tasks on behalf of our children; and

WHEREAS, classified school employees continue to collaborate with the education community to provide the highest quality learning environment for students and are actively involved in countless school programs; and

WHEREAS, the State of Colorado recognizes the role of classified school employees in our education system, and salutes these employees for the valuable services they provide to Colorado’s students and communities;

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education for Littleton Public Schools joins the honorable Governor John W. Hickenlooper and members of school communities across the state of Colorado in recognizing the work and commitment of our classified staff; and

HEREBY PROCLAIM October 8th through 14th, 2017, to be CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEES’ WEEK.
