  • 5280 magazine acknowledged Heritage High School as one of the top schools in the Denver area
  • ACT (American College Tests) composite score of 22.8 is the best in school history
  • Ten students were recognized in the 2009 National Merit Scholarship program
  • Only school in the Denver metro area with two students who received the prestigious Boettcher Scholar recognition in 2008, and one student in 2010
  • Graduating seniors were offered $7 million in scholarship awards; 22 students accepted athletic scholarships in 2009
  • Exceptional athletic and activity programs with many students receiving all-state and all-league honors
  • Students raised more than $72,000 in three years for amputee and refugee camps and to build the Heritage School in Sierra Leone, Africa in conjunction with Operation Classroom

School Improvement Goals 2009 Update

  • By 2012, increase the median growth percentile in CSAP reading, writing, and math by a total of six percent in each area, up to a 75% median growth percentile
  • By 2012, 55% of students will be college ready in science and 65% of students will be college ready in math as measured by ACT
  • By 2012, 35% of graduating seniors will successfully complete an AP or college ready course
  • By 2012, 100% of students will develop an understanding of information literacy and successfully use digital communication tools to collaborate and publish across classrooms and cultures
  • By 2012, 100% of students will report that at least one teacher knows and values them as learners
  • By 2012, 95% of students will participate in at least one school club, sport, or activity

  • Language Arts:  35 semester credits
  • Social Studies:  30 semester credits
  • Mathematics:  16 semester credits (2 years)
  • Science:  16 semester credits (2 years)
  • Fine Arts/Practical Arts:  12 semester credits
  • Physical Education:  12 semester credits
  • Electives:  In addition to the required credits, each student must select sufficient additional classes to complete a minimum of 188 semester credits.
