"Every child has a gift. It's our job to find it and help it grow."
Scott D. Murphy, LPS Superintendent
LPS offers 13 elementary schools serving students in kindergarten through fifth grade. All elementary schools offer the district elementary curriculum while maintaining their unique personalities. Parent involvement is welcomed and is an important part of each school's culture. All elementary schools focus on the core subjects of math, reading, writing, science, and social studies. In addition, each elementary has a strong commitment to a well-rounded education including art, music, P.E., library/media, and technology.
All elementary schools offer a variety of before- and after-school childcare and enrichment activities, and also offer childcare during the summer months. Many elementary schools have preschool programs, and all offer options for full-day kindergarten, either tuition-based or free. Students are eligible for kindergarten if they turn five years of age on or before October 1 of the year of enrollment Preschool programs are available for children who are three years old by October 1st. Students who turn five years of age by October 1st attend kindergarten.
