Preschool Enrollment Information

Preschool programs are available for children who are three years old by October 1st. Students who turn five years of age by October 1st attend kindergarten.

 

Educational studies indicate that the earlier a child can participate in a structured learning opportunity the better the chances of success. Providing more learning opportunities for the community’s younger children simply made sense.

Elementary principals say that having preschool, before- and after-school childcare, and a number of kindergarten options have been important to families with young children. Preschools fill quickly, and many of those families choose to send their children to that same location for kindergarten.

Preschool programs are available for children who are three years old by October 1st. Students who turn five years of age by October 1st attend kindergarten. The developmentally appropriate preschool options are:

  • Enrollment: serves children ages three to five
  • Average Class Size: staff to student ratio of 1:8 with no more than 16 children per room
  • Funding: Free Preschool available for those who qualify with funding from the Colorado Preschool Program and Head Start. Tuition spots are also available.
  • Schedule: Majority of the classes meet Monday - Thursday for 3 hours. Morning or afternoon sessions available. Full day sessions also available.

  • Enrollment: serves children ages three to five
  • Average Class Size: Staff to student ratio 1:10 for children ages 3 - 5; staff to student ratio 1:8 for children enrolled in CPP.
  • Funding: Tuition based and free preschool through Colorado Preschool Program - (CPP). Must qualify for CPP and spots are limited.
  • Schedule: Flexible morning program available Monday through Friday for 3 - 5 year old children; full day program available for 3 - 5 year old children. Before and after school care available beginning at 7:00 am and ending at 5:30 pm.

  • Average Class Size: Older Preschool Full Day Maximum of 20 with a 1:10 ratio, Younger Preschool Full Day Maximum of 16 with a 1:8 ratio, Half Day Preschool Maximum 15 with 1:10 ratio

  • Schedule: available Monday through Friday Younger Preschool Full Day classroom for 2 1/2 - 4 year old children (8:30 a.m.- 3:13 p.m.), Older Preschool Full Day classroom 4-5 year old children (8:30 a.m.-3:13 p.m.) and Half Day classroom 3-5 year old children (8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.) We provide before school care from 6:30 a.m.- 8:30 a.m. and after school care from 3:13 p.m.- 6 p.m. Lunch is inclusive for all three classroom provided by the school.
