Kindergarten Registration

What is the process to register for kindergarten?

All Littleton Public Schools elementary schools will be hosting Kindergarten Information Nights for the 2015-2016 school year. Please see individual school websites for dates and time.

Kindergarten registration will be held at each elementary school on February 2 and 3, 2015.

You may pre-register your kindergartner for the 2015-2016 school year online. You will then need to complete the process by visiting your local school on February 2 or 3, and bringing the required paperwork listed below and a printed copy of your completed pre-registration form.

If you miss the Kindergarten Registration in February, please register your student at the Education Services Center, 5776 S. Crocker St, Littleton, CO 80120.

For more information, contact the central registrar, 303-347-4360.

What do I need to bring to register my kindergartner?

  1. Copy of online pre-registration, which was completed and printed at home
  2. Proof of address (house contract, deed or lease agreement)
  3. Student's birth certificate OR passport
  4. Immunization records

Do you offer full-day kindergarten programs?

Colorado funds all half-day kindergarten programs and a few full-day kindergarten programs in public schools.

Because we believe strongly in the importance of early childhood education, all LPS elementary schools offer a variety of kindergarten options. Some full-day options are fee-based and some are free to families and funded through state or federal monies.

Learn more about the various kindergarten options available at our schools by visiting their individual websites.

What is the minimum age requirement for kindergarten?

Students are eligible for kindergarten if they turn five years of age on or before October 1 of the year of enrollment.

Does LPS offer early access to kindergarten?

Early kindergarten access may be an option for students who do not turn five years old on or before October 1, 2015. Applications for Early Access to kindergarten may be submitted beginning January 5, 2015, through May 31, 2015. No late applications can be accepted. Out-of-district families must apply for open enrollment prior to being considered for early access. Contact the Gifted and Talented Education office, 303-347-3477, for additional information.
